Have you already booked your stay at Lyngen North and just realised there is a beautiful hike to Blåisvannet (blue glacier lake) on the other side of the Lyngen Alps?
Fear not, here is a guide on how to get to Blåisvannet from Lyngen North.
Step 1: Lyngen North to Olderdalen ferry port
Take the E6 road south towards Tromsø. After 20 minutes you will reach the small town of Olderdalen. The ferry from Olderdalen – Lyngseidet leaves approximately every hour from 8am to 6pm. See the time table and fares on the ferry company’s website. Tickets can be bought from the crew while boarding the ferry or through the mobile app “Troms Mobilett”. Download it for Android or iPhone.
Step 2: Lyngseidet
Drive off the ferry at the port in Lyngseidet. Before driving out of Lyngseidet you might want to get some supplies from the supermarket before making the final drive to the starting point of the tour as there will not be more supermarkets along the way.
Step 3: From Lyngseidet to the Starting point in Sør-Lenangsbotn
Head northwest towards Svensby on fv91. Once you are at the ferry port in Svensby keep heading north along fv312. Stay on fv312 until you get to this parking lot.
If you plan on not renting a car we are happy to arrange a guided hiking tour to Blåisvannet.
